10 years on, this remains a very iconic album of the early synthwave/1980s movement.. I'd say this is 1 of the top 100 synthwave albums of all time, should a list like that ever be made.. this should def be on it!

golden age synthwave here, 1 of a special group of artists who emerged on scene circa 2010-2013, bringing renewed hope for 1980s passion to make a triumphant return to the airwaves.. Come back Cougar Synth!! seems they disappeared quickly, but this remains an iconic entry into old school synthwave!!

Call me stupid! I've already had this album for several years.. Pristine, glitzy and glossy synthesizers.. You feel the promise of big city nightclub nights..Classy and sophisticated, this is how synthesizers are supposed to sound. Not used as a gimmick like rap/hip-hop just to make money. This is purely love, music made from the heart. Synthwave forever!!

Cobra Copter has the VHS tape sound down pat with the slightly bendy synths, and The Golden Age is a pretty neat sampler of the entire scene as well as the artist's flexibility. You've got funk with "Vegas Nights", outrun in "Rebel Heart" (my favorite, with some nice contrast in the soft sections), romance in "'86 Love Affair", and a bit of vibrant tension portrayed in "Showdown", all wrapped up in 80s vibes. There's nothing so warm as that little jingle at the beginning of the intro, though.
